Seven Deadly Sins- Greed

I looked at the Seven Deadly Sins and created a look that was inspired by the sin Greed. Seven Deadly sins is based of the christian views on what is punishable in hell and is sinfull. The sin greed is the desire for material wealth and gain. You see this in a lot not only in made up fantasies but also in real life rulers. The Evil Queen in Snow White is a good example as her morals get clouded for the gain of wealth and power.

The punishment in hell inspired me the most while creating this look. Your punishment in Hell would be getting boiled alive in oil. Which was a very exspensive item in biblcal time. TV shows like Game of Thrones represented this by killing of Viserys Targaryen an aragrent and greedy ruler by getting covered in boiling melted gold ontop of him. I wanted to represent this idea of melted gold and wealth by using the gold flakes over the temples and eyes.

For the eyes I blocked out the eyebrows so that I was able to stick the glold flakes over the top without ripping out my hairs. I used a Prit Stick to do this. I was able to completly flattern the brow which made it easier when applying the eyesadow as it when down smoothly. If I were to do it again though I would use a higher coverage red corection concealer so it would cancel out the blue tone of my brows better.

For the eyeshoadow I used holographic royal colours such as blues, reds and greens. I used the James Charles eyeshadow pallete as well as ColourPops green eyepigment. Which I blended up into the brow bone and dragged out into the temples to create a dramatic and smocky eye. I also found that this made the look very editorial paired with the gold foil.

For the skin I used MAC’S strobe cream underneath the foundation that created a nice glowy base. I wanted to apply a lot of blush to the cheeks to resemble the skins first reaction when it gets burnt. To highlight the face I used MAC’S nylon as it has a gold undertone to went with the theme of greed.

For the gold foil I liked how I was able to apply it onto the eyes and lips using MAC’S mixing medium and gloss as it helped it stick well to the skin. However, if I were to do the look again, I would use a gel with a sticky consistency before it dries, so I could stick thicker portions of the foil onto the hair. It flaked off quite a bit and wasn’t as impactful as I wanted. Overall, I was able to carry out my design greed as I had planned well and changed my techniques from other looks to make it appear better.
